Reading Material-Based Content Analysis in Senior High School English Textbooks in Indonesia

English textbooks play a vital role in providing students with language learning input class activities. Unfortunately, the selection and evaluation of has often received insufficient attention thought. Content such as reading material receives less than layout analysis, design, cultural understanding. The purpose this study is to investigate extent which cover genres skills presented senior high school Indonesia. qualitative-based content analysis method was used study. There were three observed, namely those for grades 10, 11, 12 published by Ministry Education Culture aspects observed materials include based on Brown's theory. discovered are dominated personal 17 14 academic materials. Meanwhile, job-related limited 10 textbooks. When it comes skills, macroskills take precedence over microskills. Furthermore, these findings can be concluded that need developed provide balanced portion each chapter. limitations suggestions further discussed.
